Well this next months dinner happens one night on “Bastille Day” so we thought paying homage to some classic French cuisine an appropriate theme.

We will kick the dinners off with some French inspired nibbles and a glass of Kir Normande… a mix of creme de cassis and some French cider.

The meal will then commence with a traditional pork rillettes – a shredded pate of slow cooked pork belly served with a simple garnish of cornichons and toast.

For the main course we will then serve a roasted Barbary Duck breast that will be garnished with some cherries and a slightly sweet and sour sauce to cut the richness of the the meat. A simple classic garnish of green beans and a creamy garlic laced potato gratin will be the vegetable accoutrement’s to the dish!

We will then in traditional French fashion serve a selection of French Cheeses with our Porridge Oat Biscuits.

To complete the meal we will then serve a simple and slightly lighter version of a creme brulee that is made using just Creme Fraiche but with the addition of some soft summer fruits.

With the coffee we will then serve some traditional Nougat de Montelimar

What else can we say other than “Vive La France”…
