Summer Sizzler…

Well it has been a few hectic months and been a while since we have done a dinner in our home venue. So, we thought we should rectify this by doing one to reflect the Summer’s bounty…

We have decided to kick the evenings off with a welcome drink of fizz and some seasonal nibbles.

Then starting with a tomato & goats cheese tart that will combine a fondue of tomatoes atop a crisp puff pastry base garnished with pearls of goats cheese – we will serve this at room temperature/slightly warm to excite the palate with some fresh summer flavours.

Next we will serve a Cod Bon Bon – a small fishcake coated in panko crumb and deep fried served atop a puree of peas that we will flavour with curry spices and a garlic mayonnaise that will add another flavour dimension – We will serve a vegetarian alternative if also required.

For the main course we will then serve a seared Venison Steak that will be crusted with Sansho Pepper – a Japanese citric pepper that will be accompanied by a salad of green beans with toasted hazelnuts and some minted new potatoes.  A simple summer inspired dish that relies heavily on precise cooking and balance for what we hope will be a warm and sultry evening! We will again have a vegetarian alternative that we will be able to offer if pre-ordered when booking.

In true French fashion we will then serve our cheese course that we

Porridge Oat Biscuits

will select what the market offers as best with our now infamous porridge oat biscuits and a homemade chutney.

To complete the meal what could be better than some summer fruits namely local raspberries and strawberries (from the farm that supplies Wimbledon) as an “Eton Mess” a dessert reputed to originate from the annual cricket match between Eton College and Harrow School. How British is that!

Finally Coffee or Tea will be served with a homemade petit fours to round off the meal.
