We felt we needed to offer a comforting autumnal inspired menu for our October dinner event.
We will be in our home venue (full details on how to find us will be provided once your booking is confirmed.) We will do just the one night on 26th October as we have a private event at the moment scheduled for the 25th (if this changes we will let you all know).
The price of the four course menu will be £40 per head. This will include a £5 booking deposit – if cancelled 14 days prior to the event it will be refundable there after you will liable for the balance of £35 if you cancel unless we are able to fill your places, we have had to do this as we have recently had cancellations 30 minutes prior to guests were due to arrive (We had obviously bought all food and organised staffing etc. – sorry)
We will be in our home venue and we will be offering some seasonal nibbles and a welcome drink on arrival and then for our first course we will be serving a classic we have served on a number of occasions. A homemade smooth chicken liver parfait that will be served with some toasted brioche and a homemade chutney.
Next we will then serve a fish dish inspired by Bake Off champion Nadyia Hussain. It will be a cod loin fillet topped with a marmalade & chopped dill Panko breadcrumb crust that is then served with a delicate lemon beurre blanc sauce. A strange combo you may think but it really does work well.
For our main course we will then serve a Moroccan Spiced rubbed Lamb Rump that is roasted and served with a fruity cous cous laced with sultanas, dried apricots and flaked almonds – we will also serve a side salad of green beans laced with homemade preserved lemons.
To complete the meal our dessert will be a dish inspired by my time in Switzerland some forty plus years ago. A white wine poached pear that will have its core filled with a vanilla ice cream and then a chocolate kirsch cream coated over it… a version of a Pear “Belle Helene” that was named Poire Sprungli after Dr Rodolphe Sprungli the owner of Lindt Chocolate. (his home was adjacent to the restaurant I was working in)
