Ho Ho Ho… its Christmas

It is that time of year when we will all be rushing around like headless turkeys getting ready for the festive period!

We will be hosting just the one night at our home venue on Friday 20th December and it will be the final event of 2019 for us. We are proposing to link up with young entrepreneur Daniel Westby (ex Velo Coffee Co) who is just launching his new Sourdough Bakery & hopefully takeaway coffee shop called the “Pilgrim Bakehouse”. He will be providing the key ingredient to this specially designed menu where we will feature his bread and pastry in a number of ways.

We will serve some festive nibbles to start with a glass of something fizzy! Our first course will be a classic San Francisco Clam Chowder that we will serve inside a sourdough roll – what better way to kick the evening off!

Next course will feature a Rye Sourdough topped with marinated herring fillets in the form of “Scandi Open Sandwich”, fresh, light and very tasty.

We will then serve for a main course a Turkey Fricassee in which we will poach turkey breast in a saffron flavoured stock that we will then thicken with an egg yolk & cream liaison and serve with some crunchy vegetable julienne and then garnish with some crispy sourdough croutons.

For our cheese course we plan to serve an old favourite of a Swiss Cheese “Croute au Fromage”… a white wine soaked slice of sourdough bread topped with a mix of Swiss cheese baked and served with a gherkin garnish

Then to complete the meal we will then serve another favourite of ours a warm chocolate bread & butter pudding perfumed with cardamon – this will use the Pilgrim Bakehouse Pain au Chocolates that Daniel will have also produced.

Finally with after dinner coffee or tea we will serve some boozy homemade chocolate fruit & nut truffles

If you fancy joining us then please make sure you book your places and please note we request a £5 booking deposit payable via a secure payment link to confirm your places.

We have also had to adopt a more rigid cancellation policy in so much you will be liable for full payment if you cancel 14 days prior to the event unless we have been able to fill the spaces. A number of recent no shows and last minute cancellations has forced us to adopt this more draconian policy – Sorry!!!
