Well we are now about to come out of the next stage of “Lockdown” and things are opening up more and more.
Some of you may already know that after many years in our home venue in Yalding we took the decision rather unexpectedly to sell our home and move to a new home nearby.
We are now imminently about to move and thought it would be a good idea to mark the end of an era with a “Farewell to Yalding” supper at our home venue so we can say cheerio to those that have supported us especially through the last year with our Hari2Go offer and the Covert Community Bakery
So with that in mind we are offering a choice of inside and outside tables for those wishing to dine with us before we move.
The proposed date will be Saturday 22nd May 2021
The menu will feature both some old favourites and some new ideas.
We will kick the evening off with some simple nibbles with a glass of something fizzy and also serve up a new form of our infamous “Beer Bread” in the form of a Marmite & Cheese version that has been a recent hit with my bakery customers.
Our first course will be a smooth, creamy and earthy flavoured Mushroom Pate that will come served with some crispy sourdough toasts – a dish inspired by a recent visit to Fallow Restaurant in London, The depth of flavour is amazing and also includes the addition of dried cepes for an added punch.
For the main course it will be a roasted mustard coated fillet of pork wrapped in cured ham that will come served with a cumin & beer jus. Served with some crushed buttered Jersey Royals potatoes and a medley of seasonal vegetables.
Finally as the local strawberries are very much coming into season we will serve a classic Strawberry Eton Mess with local Hugh Lowe Farm fruit. It will be followed by coffee with homemade chocolate truffles.
We ask you to state a preference for inside or outside dining and dress appropriately for the outside dining.
