We are always keen to bring our dining concepts to a new audience and this time we will be using a village hall in the sleepy hamlet of Hodsoll Street on top of Wrotham Hill for this purpose.
The village hall is well known to us as they hold a monthly fundraising “Big Breakfast” for locals and walkers and so we thought it would make a great venue for a dinner highlighting some local produce including a cheese produced just down the road!!!
The menu will start with some seasonal nibbles that will whet the appetite and then the first course will be a Homemade Chicken and Wild Garlic Terrine that will be accompanied with a wild garlic mayonnaise and some melba toasts. A vegetarian alternative will be a Wild Mushroom Parfait with some wild garlic oil and melba toasts as well.
Wild Garlic signifies the arrival of springtime whilst our main course offer will be a last gasp of winter with a classic Braised Beef Carbonnade – a steak slow cooked with onions and beer that will be served with creamed potatoes and our signature green beans. The vegetarian offer is a mixed vegetable and bean stew that will be accompanied by some spiced Cous Cous.
Next will be the local cheese made by Robin & Carla Betts just down the road at Winterdale Shaw – a real favourite of mine as it is not only carbon neutral but also an unpasteurised Cheddar that is a gem of a cheese. Served with some homemade chutney and our now infamous Porridge Oat Biscuits.
Finally we will serve a homemade Gluten Free Chocolate Brownie with a red berry compote and some thick mascarpone cream
Some coffee and simple petit fours completes your meal
Please note we will provide glasses and mineral water on all tables and we request you bring your own drinks to consume with your meal
To Book your places please complete the booking form below and state also how many will require the Vegetarian offer. We will then invoice your party a booking confirmation deposit (Please note this is non refundable if cancelled within 72 hours prior to the event) We request the balance is paid on the night in cash in the envelopes provided.
